Essay About Dead Man Walking-90
I enjoyed the movie though it was very disturbing in places, it was very well done and very well acted.Dead Man Walking       The film “Dead Man Walking” is a film about redemption. Susan Sarandon plays a Nun called Sister Helen Prejean. When confronted with Matthew, Sister Helen tries to see the good in him and show him the respect she believes he deserves. He wanted her to be happy and to not worry about him.

Everyone changes their ideals and morals depending on their situation. s ideals changed because he feared that he was going to die alone. s feelings changed because she saw a side of Matthew that no one else was able to see. She became a nun to give back to the community which gave her good Christian morals and values. From insight into her background and Christian upbringing Sister Helen is able to see and feel for Matthew as a person and not as an object of ? Matthew never had anyone that really cared about him except Sister Helen. This changes are all caused by the situation he is in.At the end Matthew hopes that the father of Walter (the victim) can forgive him and accept that he knows what he was wrong and should be punished for it, but not punished to death. s farther does forgive him at the vary end of the movie.Dead Man Walking – Analysis Of The Movie Essay, Research Paper People in society today have changed their feelings towards humanity and religious practises. The characters of Sister Helen, Matthew, and the victims parents all went through these changes during the movie for different reasons. was very sympathetic, he understanding of what Matthew was going through. s understanding and the victims parents understanding is that Sister Helen believes that Matthew was wronged by the system. MATTHEWAt the beginning of the movie Matthew is rude and abrupt to Sister Helen that? This was a turning point in his attitude in understanding right and wrong. The characters go through changes in their view of religion and their feelings about human morality and humanity towards each other. Sister Helen felt compassionate towards Matthew because of the person he had become through getting to know her and understand what she believed and wanted. Soon Matthew trusts Sister Helen and persuades her to help him by filing a petition not to kill him by lethal injection. She is asked by a convicted murderer to get him a lawyer, and then later is asked to be his spiritual advisor. The convicted killer is named Matthew Poncelet, and he is played by Sean Penn. Ferdinand Kerimov, an informant and suspected terrorist, has been declared dead by the IAA, but the FIB believe he's being "debriefed" somewhere. He discovers one with Kerimov's name on the toe tag, but the body is of a black woman, and is obviously not Kerimov. I saw some change in him when he said that he wanted his mother to know that he didn't kill the children, but that only made matters worse when we found out that he did actually kill the children because then he would have been directly lying to his mother for the soul purpose of giving himself piece of mind. There obviously was a tender side of him when it came to his family, and he respected what the Sister did to try and help him, so there wasn't all malice in him.
