Barrett's collection is the only place where the Spring 2006 through the Spring 2012 theses are available. Please email the College at [email protected] use their Contact Barrett form to check on the availability of a specific thesis. This manual is designed to assist graduate students who must produce a thesis, dissertation or equivalent under the supervision of their committee chair and successfully defend it as part of their degree requirements.
A document called the Report for Master's Thesis/Practicum Defense form or the Report for Doctoral Dissertation Defense form (commonly known as the Pass/Fail form) will be emailed to your entire committee and your graduate support staff once the defense has been officially scheduled.
This form must be taken to your defense, and your committee will sign and indicate revisions as needed at the time of defense.
Undergraduate students in the honors program must produce a thesis before graduation.
This is just one of several requirements the students must meet; therefore, the existence of a thesis does not automatically mean a student did graduate with honors.
The Honors Theses collection starts with 1962 although Barrett, the Honors College, did not form until 1988.
The Libraries' collection of honors theses ends with 2005; Barrett continues to maintain their own collection of the theses. Starting with Fall 2012, Barrett is adding copies of the honors theses to the ASU Digital Repository under the Barrett, The Honors College Thesis/Creative Project Collection.
Embargoing through Pro Quest is separate from embargoing through ASU.
If you would like to secure an indefinite embargo from Pro Quest on your theses/dissertation then you must have successfully completed all requirements and graduated.
Although it is acceptable to use, your manuscript should not switch between Times New Roman and Times New Roman as there are distinct differences between the two fonts.
All text must be double-spaced, except: block quotes, appendices, table/figure captions, material in tables, footnotes, endnotes, reference citations, and the optional biographical sketch.
